{"id":1979,"date":"2012-06-25T17:59:51","date_gmt":"2012-06-25T16:59:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/t-machine.org\/?p=1979"},"modified":"2012-06-25T17:59:51","modified_gmt":"2012-06-25T16:59:51","slug":"gamesthatteach-different-snakes-how-they-look-how-they-act","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/new.t-machine.org\/index.php\/2012\/06\/25\/gamesthatteach-different-snakes-how-they-look-how-they-act\/","title":{"rendered":"GamesThatTeach: Different snakes, how they look, how they act"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kongregate.com\/games\/netgrind\/snakes-on-a-cartesian-plane\">Snakes on a Cartesian Plane<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Interesting because:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Each snake has to be unlocked by in-game activities that are (sometimes) related to the snake itself\n<li>Every snake changes the gameplay in a way that&#8217;s always related to the snake itself (with a small piece of text hinting at &#8211; or directly explaining &#8211; why)\n<\/ol>\n<p>Things I&#8217;d like to add:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Photos of each snake when you start the level, and each time you die, combined with the snake name; a passive reinforecement\n<\/ol>\n<h3>First in a series&#8230;<\/h3>\n<p>I&#8217;ve decided to start grabbing and posting tiny summaries of games I encounter that &#8211; usually accidentally &#8211; are teaching something clear. I don&#8217;t care about &#8230; actually, no &#8211; I <strong><em>detest<\/em><\/strong> &#8211; educational games \/ edugames \/ edutainment.
